Have
I got a story for you,
It's all science fiction, that's true,
About a group led by Blake,
The adventures they make,
As all over space they flew.
Yes, Blakes
Seven was immense,
Though the title didn't make sense,
Cos I was quite thick
I thought there were SIX,
Then I found out that they counted Zen.
Let's
get back to the start,
And get right to the very heart
Of how Blake began
To be a wanted man
(The Federation wanted to tear him apart!)
On
a prison ship, as a wrong-doer,
His future certainly looked poor,
There were others around
For the clink they were bound
By the end there were one or two fewer.
Here
he met a few friends,
Though not many would last till the end,
Some got killed on the way,
Some made it okay,
Blake kept trying to make amends.
Then
the strangest of ships passed them by, Damaged in battle, it seemed
to the eye,
Three people were dispatched
To the access hatch
To secure the ship, well, at least try.
This
ship, she sure was a beaut,
The design made it almost look cute,
One infiltrator
Named it "Liberator",
Blake liked it, and Avon followed suit.
At
the moment we're up to Blake's Three,
Well, Four, as I think you will see,
As mentioned before
We count Zen as one more
And Jenna was there to add some beauty
To
Cygnus Alpha they did head,
To save prisoners who weren't yet dead,
Out of the lot
Only 2 men were got
And what a pair, it has to be said!
We
had Vila, a thief by his trade,
Locks as his speciality were made,
But the great big strong man
Was named Olag Gan
But a limiter made his power fade.
In
the next brave Blake's Six attack,
Blake was attacked at his back,
The Auron named Cally
Made him look a wally,
But afterwards she joined the pack.
So
this is the group I knew,
Blake, Avon, Jenna, Vila and Gan too,
Worth saying again,
Let's not forget Zen!
And Cally was the last of the crew.
So
up there they made it their station
To take on the mighty Federation,
It's a good plot, I know,
And credit must go
To the writer whose name was Terry Nation.
Servalan
took an instant dislike
To Blake's doings and what he was like,
She made it her aim
To have Blake die in pain
We all thought she should take a hike.
She
appointed a bloke to kill Blake,
And some damn good attempts he did make,
Travis tried his best,
To eliminate the pest,
Not good enough on his chances did he take.
Now,
before it starts getting too late,
With the title, I've got to have a debate,
Toward the end of season
Can you add one on
And make Blake's Seven, "Blake's Eight"?
Because
there was one more addition,
When they undertook a very tough mission
To save him they tried,
But poor Ensor died,
To give Orac to Blake was his decision.
This
frightfully annoying machine,
Although it looked ever so clean,
Was rude through and through
With manners from a zoo
I'd have melted it with a hot laser beam.
The
enemies got better and badder,
While Travis just kept getting madder,
But here I should end
Let me tell you, my friend,
That here the story gets sadder.
Because
I am too young to have seen
When Blake's Seven first hit the screen
I'm only Twenty-one
So what I have done
Is watch videos that I've been able to glean.
My
brother-in-law has about four,
BUT I WANT TO SEE THE REST SO MUCH MORE!
My eyes I keep peeled
In case one is revealed
I don't think I'd ever get bored.
So
here my limerick ends,
Thank you for reading, my friends,
If I find some videos
I could lengthen this prose
And make the whole story of Blake's Seven into a rhyme. (Damn...
that last line!)
