One of the things that came up on the 'Should B7 Come Back' Poll was that several people feel B7 was more abut ideas than the 'look' of the programme.

But what are the visual highlights of B7? Although classic Doctor Who was also made on a low budget, it still had many impressive visual moments - the design of the Daleks being an obvious example.

So what are the parts of B7 that make you think 'wow that looks good!' ?

Liberator and Val - let's just take it as read that yours include Soolin and Avon respectively shall we!!

Yes the models of the Liberator, Nova Queen and other spacecraft are good. I also the dark visuals of what's in space seen from the Liberator and Servalan's screen that are a good contrast to the outdoor filmed scenes in alien environments.

well, yeah.

Scorpio and Xenon base looked good as well, particularly the takeoffs from the silo.

Yes Smiley Ooh, couldn't agree with you more.

Those shots of the platform turning in the silo, Scorpio travelling up or down the shaft and the eventual launch from the cliff face, still stand up extremely well today.

I always liked the Federation Guards / Troopers, simple but very effective.

I agree that The Liberator really visually sets it apart. There are some really beautiful shots of the bigger model. Even the animated transitions look great. Just a shame about the smaller model work, it can detract.

I concur - either that or the 1st sighting of the 'libby' flight-deck

Yes the set looks very impressive and alien. Bit like the first time we saw the TARDIS interior in An Unearthly Child.

I also think the exterior shot of the decayed Liberator when Dayna is trying to contact Tarrant and Cally in Terminal is very effective. The exploding buildings at the finale of City are good too.

I don't think any other show had a computer quite like Zen. Slave gets copied, but not Zen.

Absolutely agree. Yes Smiley

The Tomorrow Peoples 'TIM' doesn't even come close!

I do have a soft spot for SLAVE though, I always thought he looked very good and suited the Scorpio perfectly.

I agree about the Liberator! It's so original and looks amazing. I was really disappointed at the Scorpio flight deck though - so drab and ugly compared to the Liberator (I suppose that was the point, but still...)

I don't think anything could reproduce the character dynamics though, and I think everyone agrees that is what really makes B7 so brilliant. The film of THGTTG (to update the Radio and TV series) and the Star Wars additions seem to miss the point of what made the originals work, thinking that what people wanted was amazing CGIs etc.
