Why is Tennent so bland and always in the background ? I also find his voice to be without authority and a bit weedy , maybe he should have kept his Scots accent - he`ll have to do far more than he has so far to convince me sorry ! |

I don't know why he couldn't keep his Scottish accent - after all, Chris Ecclestone kept his - 'Lots of planets have a North'. David Tennant was weedy in Casanova without the accent and stronger in Blackpool with the accent.
I've listened to the audio commentary for 'New Earth' I downloaded from iTunes last night and it's David Tennant and Russell T Davies who are doing to commentary plus the director, I think. Better than the one for 'The Christmas Invasion'. Or maybe that was because there was such a gap between me watching the episode and listening to the commentary. _________________ Regret is part of being alive - but make it a small part. |

In this week's episode, they appear in Scotland (or Wales pretending to be Scotland) and the Doctor pretends to be Scottish, so it will be interesting to see if he's any different with his natural accent. Billie Oioer puts on the accent as well, to less affect.
Interesting article here in the 'Glasgow Record' about Derek Riddell who is in Saturday's episode - some spoilers in the article for this episode:

Good point. They were only brought up 20 odd miles apart - McCoy in Dunoon and Tennant in Paisley. _________________ Regret is part of being alive - but make it a small part. |

I only got around to watching the ep the other day... I thought it was good!
I was really enjoying it up to the point where the human guinea pigs were released and I thought it went a bit naff at that point... but it soon picked up again |

Funny enough, you can hear his accent in the preview that was at the end of last Saturdays episode. I thought that it might have been a mistake, but clearly not. _________________ Louise and Simon's Blakes7 Fan Site

I'm looking forward to the next episode; from the spoilers and ads on TV, the Doc does seem to play a bigger part thankfully!
