It seems to exist in more forms than any other Doctor Who story. But which is the best take on the 1st Dalek story? Will Whitaker's prose, Cushing's charm or Ganatus leather trousers swing the vote? |

They all have something to offer - the TV version is the first appearence of the Daleks , a bit overlong but full of memorable set peices ! The Film version has the daleks in full blown technicolour and they look wonderful , and the novel is told in the first person ( Chesterton ) and is another slant to the story and is still one of the best DW books written - so its hard to choose really ! |

I voted for the Original TV episode for the simple reason that had it not been as good as it was, the other two would not have happened. It's as simple as that. |
