I agree BC. Would have been interesting to see what Blake thought of S4 Avon as well. |

I was interested to find out that Terry Nation had thought of a possible continuation after ‘Blake’ (On Youtube here) but I don’t know what it was. _________________ Last Watched: Deliverance 3.09.2019 |

Watched 'Blake' last night for only the second time ever.
How anyone can come away from this ep thinking that Blake was anything less than a world-class f**k-up is beyond me. _________________ "Blak" sheep of the B7 forum family! |

What annoyed me a little in Terry Nation's interview on the Series 4 DVD was that he said he had a few ideas on how they escaped their fates, but he doesn't go into more detail. I know there was the idea that Avon and Vila would have their own spinoff and that 'Afterlife' may have been adapted (and better written) for it. Also, it's a shame we never got to see 'State of M.I.N.D.' written as the author had hinted at the resurrection of Blake and the Scorpio crew. Plus, some new heroes coming out of the woodwork and an end to the Federation. |

I always thought Blake was a galaxy class you know whatzit.
The character got on my nerves so bad I almost didn't become a fan
at all.
It wasn't until I saw "Terminal" with the enigmatic hottie Avon that I
became a fan of Blakes 7...
Blakes a 7
Avons a 10
Yep I have that button |

Blake's 7 as a whole is a great deconstruction and critique of 'traditional' ideas of male heroism. There's practically a thesis in it! _________________ Everything in life is only for now. |

I'm 1/2 convinced you've already written it. _________________ "Blak" sheep of the B7 forum family! |

That's poart of what made it a great series IMHO. The hero has real flaws. The same heroism that saved the lives of the crew on Cygnus Alpha leadss him to jeopardise everyone's life in the following epi. |

Finally got to the last 3 episodes and I think i never saw the last ep before (and maybe more eps from season 3 and 4) but knew from the several publications such as the programme guide book and Starlog, how it was going to end. This is a scan from starlog #november 89:
I can imagine the horror of fans when they saw the last episode it could have ended more positive with the good guys winning and the bad guys loosing. It could have ended with the crew burying Blake and with the prospect of the crew continuing his resistance ideal. What was the idea of writer Chris Boucher to create this type of ending? Alas, it wasn't a complete shock at the time, as most of the daily papers went out of the way to point the fact out that B7 was ending! One article had " Blake gets blasted"- then went into great detail! ( I'll try an dig the article out & place it on here).
This still didnt soften the impact of the actual episode though, seeing it in print was one thing, seeing them gunned down in slow-motion was something else

Indeed!
When I saw that episode I remember just sitting there going while the credits were rolling and with the same expression for some time after!
I always associated the dramatic theme music with the passion of the rebellion etc, so when instead of that music they just had those gunshot sounds that was particularly chilling _________________
