MISSISSIPPI BURNING - this film makes me so angry about the way those racist redneck idiots from the south behave and live but says a lot I suppose about the performances in this movie as Brad Douriff is terrific as the racist Deputy and its prob one of Gene Hackman`s best too! POWERFUL AND MOVING!

Brad Dourif rocks, so does David Patrick Kelly(Luther in The Warriors). Both are first-rate character actors.

Indeed! A mate in the Merchant Navy who visited S. Africa during the Apartheid years and also the southern States said that from what he saw the whites in the southern States were a lot worser than the Afrikaners. In his words "At least the Afrikaners acknowledged that the Blacks were human". |

Why do you think I have NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in visiting the Southern US? They have to keep a lot of it hidden under their pointy white hats these days, but that attitude is still very strong in the south. Do you think these 'people' enjoy having a black man as president? Nuh-uh.

The Wire. Tuned into it a few weeks back and now I'm hooked.
Don't know which side is which as the cops and politicians are as bent as the drug dealers. Some superb characters, acting and writing in there and far superior to anything from the UK right now.

Never could figure out the hatred these people have in them, why do they spend so much of their lives in the pursuit of something else they percieve to be alien or diff to them and to the extent of commiting horrible acts? is it so boring in there towns that they have nothing to do in their lives or are they easily led by others and their sick propaganda? Worse still most of those people are`nt superior to no one and I would`nt let any of those idiots try to tell me whats right or whats wrong - anywhere in the World!
Life is too short!

She was also in a TV series for a while called 'Too Close For Comfort'.

Being from Europe when first came in the states the first thing that struck me was how racial motivated this country is.and how far they'll go to to hurt those people especially in the south,i guess i'll never understand what motivates people to hurt other human beings,where i come from blacks or otherwise are treated equally, we don't see the color just people like us...
