Series One
You would think a good thief would be better dressed. He could either steal nice clothes, or the money to afford nice clothes. As he managed to do neither, I must assume Delta Grades have no sense of style. He even keeps it on longer than necessary, from The Way Back, Spacefall, Cygnus Alpha and Time Squad. I would have dumped it the moment Jenna mentioned a clothes room! Fashion Notes: (Barbara Lane) 'One of my favourite costumes was the first I had, the one I wore on the prison shop for two episodes. It was very simple - it must have cost them about twenty-five pence, and I remember it had a couple of canteen plastic stirrers stuck on to it, like a prison badge, and then spray-painted'.
In The Web, Vila finds the clothes room. Nicely done in reddish brown, he is much improved. But he must not think it's quite enough, as his next outfit goes even further.
From social bondage to physical bondage, Vila feels a prisoner even on the Liberator! What is up with this? Or was Avon having a little joke by telling him this straightjacket was meant to be worn backwards? It must have made him feel safe, tho, since he wears it from Seek-Locate-Destroy through Orac!
Here is a shot of the shirt he wears under the straightjacket. He has Blake's liking for snap up shirts. The red is a good color for him.
And last, but not least, is his surface clothes, done in red. Worn in Seek-Locate-Destroy, Project Avalon, Deliverance and Orac.
He, too, gets the interesting thermal outfit under the surface clothes. Seen only in Project Avalon.
