“Cally, my name is Cally.”
But who is the real Cally? Is she the “companions for my death” Cally or the “Stop it! Stop it! All of you! Leave him alone” Cally? She starts off as a hardcore freedom fighter prepared to wage an endless war then she turns into a pacifist. Did she get sick of all the blood and destruction? Did she lose her stomach for it once Blake left? Or was the real Cally a peaceful person who got caught up in circumstances?

From my interpretation of Children of Auron Cally is one of a batch of clones. I would think having a group that looked and thought alike might spur one or more of them to do something completely different, out of the mold. Maybe that’s why she joined a rebellion.
Brave, practical, headstrong, capable, that’s how she starts out. After Gan dies she seemed to take on his role as the moral compass. She managed to bond with Jenna once it's clear she has no romantic interest in Blake, unfortunately after they leave she only has Avon as a friend as it doesn’t appear she fits in with the rest of the crew (Wait, Avon as her only friend? She’s as good as dead). Vila was self centered, as usual, and Tarrant and Dayna seemed to only trust each other. Granted, they did risk their lives for her but it never felt liked they had any chemistry with her.

Every scifi team needs an alien and having one that is ostracized from her/his people always makes for a better back story. The telepathy is a double edged sword with Cally for while it helps on some missions it also opens her up to the threat of being possessed. From a writing standpoint it’s a quick way of advancing the plot. From a fan's stand point it’s a tragic waste of a character. I have her unofficially listed as being possessed 5 times, being used as a hostage 3 times and captured 4 times, although I a couple of those captures were with the crew.
