Some go with Sunday others with Monday. I always think that Sunday is the last day of the week and Monday the first day of the new week. What say you? |

Sunday. Without a doubt
Yes, Monday is the start of the working week, but Sunday forms one end of the week, saturday the other end. Thus, saturday and sunday would more accurately labelled as the 'week ends'. _________________ As I was saying, we all have to learn to live with disappointment |

Given I work shift work its sometimes not easy to know when a week ends/starts Its's great to have a weekend off sometimes, so I'd have to say that Monday is the day that starts the week - Sunday is suppose to be a day of rest - apparently _________________ Wisdom must be gathered, it can not be given

I go with Monday as the start of the week, whether work or other. I am not religious but the good book says and on the seventh day you can rest, or something like that
I guess it is personal choice, the week "end" after all comprises of Saturday and Sunday. It is not called the weekend/beginning |

When I got my first job (way back in the midst of ancient times) Wednesday was the day I got paid, so that was always the start of the week for me - the day I could spend again (but in the days when you got paid weekly and in cash!!!!!) _________________

One of the unusual things about the Portuguese language is that Sunday is the only day which has a proper name - "Sabado" from the Jewish word for Sabbath. The words they use for days literally translate as "First Day", "Second Day" etc. Since "First Day" is Monday, I guess that means in Portuguese speaking countries the week starts with Monday. |

Well if you go into the bible and all that, isn't it said that God rested on the 7th day - and the day of rest is regarded by christian religous organisations as Sunday - thus they would also agree that Monday is the first day
However - in the Jewish religion the day of rest is the Saturday - so Sunday would be the first day.........
Okay, that didn't resolve anything really did it? _________________

Diary makers appear to disagree on this one and it seems that every year I get a work diary that starts on a different day to the one from the previous year... (I mean either Sunday or Monday, not that I've ever found a diary that started on Thursday or anything)
... so there are usually loads of crossings-out and "aarrgh I've written it in the wrong bloody day again, stupid diary!" moments at the start of each week for the first month or two... _________________
