I saw an advert for this yesterday.

I'm looking forward to Outcasts, and just hope it will not disappoint.

It will give us something current to discuss anyway, bad or good!

Just watched the First Episode. It will be interesting to see how it develops. I wonder if they're are any wild animals roaming the planet.

Watched both episodes now on iPlayer. Like the scenery and Ashley Waters' character but not impressed with the filming, dialogue and why they cast one of the likely lads....

I may watch episode 3, but I cant see myself staying to the end of the series - apparently there are 8 episodes.

I've just watched episode 3. Seemed a bit slow. I was expecting to be a plot twist or two, or may be just a good old fashioned DW style cliffhanger but none of the above seemed to have happened.

Agree with you TJ. I am enjoying it too.

I wonder whether I am a bit undiscriminating in my viewing when something I enjoy gets generally criticised!

Obv its not B7, but look at the characters, and ignore the sometimes creaky dialogue (is it Outcast's own version of the cheap sfx argument often levelled against B7?)

Just hope it doesn't go too far down the Lost-style endless mysteries and secrets.

At Redemption next weekend there's going to be a discussing session for an hour about Outcasts. So for those of you coming a chance to meet up and discuss it.

Well the consensus at Redemption '11 is that Outcasts has bombed. Hence the BBC's decision to move it to a later slot on Sunday nights.

Outcast's later slot works very well for me-kids never in bed for 9pm starts!

But pushing it to a later time will hardly gather it more viewers. I read an article about the timing change, saying that it would be entirely understandable if a programme which was failing to get viewers showing on a commercial channel was moved, because of the pressure from the advertisers who pay for the station.

I know the BBC would prefer to show programmes with good ratings on the peak slots, but they've already spent what must be lots of money on Outcasts and moving it says 'we don't think this is worth a good slot' and with only a couple of episodes to go they could have shown some faith.

From the final scenes last night it looks as though the plot is about to take a different turn, hopefully away from the Lost style story.

Given we had a "double" of Josie, I wonder whether we're dealing with Aliens who can shape shift or else create illusions, like the Talosians in classic Star Trek could.

Well last night's episode was a bit lacklsutre. The spaceship that Julius is secretly communicating with still hasn't landed. It's just getting like Eastenders in Space.
