Who should shoulder the blame for the tragic end of the rebellion?

Blake, 100%

However, it didn't help that Avon was slowly going insane either.

As I said recently on the episode thread, how anyone could come out of viewing 'Blake' thinking that Roj was anything less than a world-class screw-up is puzzling to me. Of course Tarrant was going to view Blake as a traitor. Blake gave him no reason to think otherwise, and Avon had no reason to doubt what Tarrant was saying.

Insanity is a form of mental illness, so is PTSD. I was just generalizing.

Besides, Avon tried to kill Vila in a previous ep. Granted, self-preservation was involved and he was being egged on by Orac, but there's a bit more going there than just trauma and stress.

However, that being said, killing Blake was mostly logical under the circumstances. It deosn't really matter since The Federation was about to kill them all anyway.

As it should be, it was his fault.

After all this time, he couldn't spot a Federation infiltrator(one considerably younger than him, I might add). How bad is that?!

The makers of the program. They clearly buckled under conservative fears that images of rebellion might foster rebellion in the viewing population. Such a program as B7 was inimical to (or even rebellious towards) the advanced capitalist society that was (and still is) being administered.

I don't think you are joking on this quote?
I heard the same thing from an American fan but when I relayed that
information to a fan friend in Merseyside UK she was incredulous over
that claim. Said it was rubbish (happened in 1990)

"Happened in 1990 " What did!! - In all fairness to Afos comment, there were infact rumours in the early 1980's that the BBC where 'looked down on' for their series objectives, probably from the conservatives at the time! compasions where actually made between Thatcher and at the time, so what does that say !!

I voted Avon, but it was Tarrant's remark that did it.

Tarrant had every reason to believe that Blake was about to sell them out, so did Avon.
