On the evidence so far far the answer from me is not so far , he does`nt seem to carry much authority in his Doctor , is very bland with a bit of a weedy voice , and needs to do far more to convince me !

I think he could turn out to be the best Doctor we've ever had. I Adon't agree with this weedy stuff. When he wants to be authoratative he can - just look at his scenes with the Sisterhood when he discovers the breeding farm.

I like the idea of a Doctor who only shows his strength when its needed - much better than the tiresome posturing of Pertwee or Ecclestone.

I'm getting to like him - he has some of the quirkiness of Patrick Troughton.

I think Tennant tries too hard, Ecclestone was more effortless.

Ha! I voted yes before I saw it was a character based thread rather than acting based.

I was going to point out the difference in Zoe Wanamaker impressions between Tennant & Piper & say: There see, he's got an ability. But it's irrelevant now.

I prefer Eccleston he just seemed to be The Dr without dramatically over-playing the part .I think Tennant is trying to hard at the moment ,he might settle down.
