I've voted for Good but flawed. My immediate thoughts - having only watched it twice are:

Enjoyable but silly in places - when Cassandra went into the Doctor's body, for instance. Try explaining to a child what part of the Doctor's body he might not be using!

Plot holes - I don't think Rose/Cassandra was with the Doctor when Intensive Care was mentioned. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Too neat an ending - are we to believe that one second in a plague ridden woman's body was enough to make Cassandra decide she should die after trying to stay alive for so long.

I liked Cassandra taking over Rose's body - Chavtastic!

I thought the cat nurses were well thought out regarding the design but no thought given as to the thoughts behind what they were doing. They weren't stupid - they must have know they'd created proper lives. Why so many 'lab rats'?

I liked the 'Face of Bo' and assume what he has to impart will go through this series as did Bad Wolf through the first one.

What a coincidence that they should end up where Cassandra was? Or should we assume that she made the call 'Ward 26' rather than the Face of Bo?

I think David Tennant is very good - he is a brilliant actor and a true sci-fi and Dr Who fan. This is the job he has always wanted and he will do what he can to the best of his abilities, which I believe to be great.

Those who are saying about him being a grin on legs - remember we said that about Christopher Eccleston last year but we still warmed to him. There seems to be a strong moral streak through this Doctor and it will be interesting to see what he will and will not do.

Looking forward to next week but annoyed that we're remaining on Earth again.

If anyone is interested, the BBC have released an audio commentary for New Earth which is available via iTunes. There is also an Audio commentary for The Christmas Invasion.

Yes Smiley - I did!!!

Unfortunately, the story was far too rushed due to the format the show is now in. Sadly, no time to build up tension or, a good storyline, characters, etc. The verdict on "DAVID" is still out till I see more episodes of his "DOC"!!!

But Blak, *shocked innocence*, how could you possibly seen the episode when you live in the USA?

I agree - Tennant has done nothing to impress me so far - and this story was absolutely nothing to write home about !

from originally having misconceptions about the series, i quite enjoyed this episode and say it feels a bit more like Who.

Yeah, I agree. I think the alien setting really helped.
