One of the natives on Sarran would have been preferable to Justin.

Dayna was only pretending to like Justin so she had an excuse for being close to me.

I agree with callyfan - why on earth didn't they recast Justin to a younger man? It wouldn't have been so 'creepy' and the whole story may have made more sense.

quote]Possiby - but, having met PETER BYRNE who played, JUSTIN. He's quite a charming guy and, how old was supposed to be when he supposedly, molested those kids for which he was deported to "CYGNUS ALPHA???

BUT, it was creepy - nonetheless! ughhhh!!! Crazy

Ah, but there's a big difference between supposedly molesting the kids and supposedly falling in love with a student.

Mind you, there was still a bit of an age gap had and, JUSTIN been in the story as, originally intended. That's why most of the Federation where sick and corrupt to start off with, wouldn't you say!!!

True.

BUT it was CREEPY, nonetheless... Ughhh!!! Crazy

Still thinking that this was one of the weakest episodes.

I actually enjoyed the final shoot-out at the end (when Og is killed).

Should have got Servalan as well.
By this time she was past the use by date for Terran Presidents.

No, I would think Steve is deadly serious!

Although Og wasn't exactly a favourite character for me (sorry Og) but I was a little upset at his death, mainly becuase it was so unnecessary.

Yes,Og got to die a true hero's death, fightimg for the freedom of his people and protecting a damsel from harm.Only Jarvik's death was more moving.

I didn't particually care for this story but the idea of Justin to create a radiation resistant intelligent animal/human hybrid through DNA manipulation doesn't seem so far fetched today.Even the brain implant seems plausible.I seem to remember hearing of scientists doing something similar on dogs.Usually in the movies the mad doctor is attempting to make a superior human using animal (or alien) DNA,this was a slight variation.

This episode is very indebted to Wells 'The Island of Doctor Moreau'. Frighteningly, Animals is much, much more effective than Holywoods attempts to adapt that novel!

I thought the Marlon Brando one of that film was good. I've read that novel and it does have similar aspects to Animals, but overall Animals is poor.
