The originals had tinted visors (oddly, some seem a sort of orangey brown?). I didn't have any material available but I had some clear acetate sheet, so I just gave it a very slight spray of black paint. Once in place, it should look fine and you can still see through it.

I've glued the visors in place, I think they look okay.

I have taken delivery of some perspex, a sheet of clear and some sheets of acid green. I cut the green pieces into strips and then heated each strip over the gas hob and bent them in shape around a waste paper bin! (You need really thick gloves for this not to hurt!). I then glued the pieces together. Well, it's a start.

I have drilled holes in the helmet and used long bolts to fit the inner ring in place as a test fit.

I have made the outer band in pretty much the same way as the inner one. The originals were made with a ripple pattern perspex that is just no longer available. To get around this, I made the ring from plain perspex and then stuck a ripple pattern plastic sheet onto it. The ripple pattern sheet is used by railway modellers to simulate running water.

The faceplates also came with badges (oddly twice as many as needed), they only required a quick dusting with silver spray paint.

Thanks. Yep, they progressed quicker than I expected. I do have one or two ideas for future B7 projects. Probably not the security robot though!

Thanks very much. I have plans for another B7 model soon, in the meantime here are some recent pics of some of my Anderson stuff.

Made a quick Liberator intercom. I've put a speaker in it so that I can play music through it should I be so inclined!

I've photographed a couple of my models on my glass-topped garden table, I really think it looks like the sea.

Great models and they look exactly as if on water.
