I have made one of the display screens. I used the lid from a plastic storage jar as the bezel and the diffuser from a garden spotlight as the screen. The light comes from an LED night-light.

I used another storage jar lid and garden light diffuser to make the other display screen. I used vinyl tape for the stripes and a control knob trim for the central detail. The holes are not accurate but allow the speaker within to be heard.

You can see how scrappy I am with the shot of the underside of this model. The electronics produce and amplify the sound.

I have boxed in the perspex panel. This is not accurate, but this model needs to be free standing, not form part of a set. The space beneath it houses the batteries. One slide switch is for the lights, the other powers up the sound system and the push switch activates the teleport sound. The volume control is underneath.

Decided that I didn't like the way I'd done the edge, so I changed it to the gasket-less look sported in episodes (not always on photos of the surviving prop). I have added the little detail over the red and white screen and my switch lenses arrived today so I fitted them too.

Okay, starting the levers now, not an easy part. I have made a couple of end blocks by sticking pairs of perspex rectangles together. I have then made three holes in them (plus a small, vertical one for a locating pin). Into these I have fitted lengths of EMA coloured tube. It's a start.

You've done another brilliant job there Kev Yes Smiley Does it make the teleport effect noise, when you move those levers

All you need to do now, is build the teleport console, then the room, then the corridor, then ......

Thanks. No, the levers don't work the sound, the yellow button does. It was hard enough to find space for a dalek, let alone a deep space vehicle interior!

Good clip Kev! Unusual seeing it being operated from that angle though

Just found a perspex box that is exactly the right size for Orac's key (well, the sides should be 3mm thick but hey?), so I've made a new key for my Orac.
