We haven't had a Birmingham meet up for a while, but we are now. The date for the meet will be Saturday the 26th of October, so make a date in your diaries:

When: Saturday, 26 October 2013, 12:15 PM

Where: The Dragon Inn, Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 4TD.

The event goes from approx 12.20 to 7pm, though some of us may stay longer.

If this is your first time and you don't know any of us, let us know what you look like and roughly when you'll be arriving so we can look out for you.

The Facebook event is:

That reminds me, I'd better post some walking directions from New St Station to The Dragon Inn!

New Street Station has all changed now and I don't think you can exit the station where you used to be able to (and where Google Maps still thinks you can)...

The building work is still ongoing tho so I'll have to re-check next week... but here's the directions for now...

The signs in the station concourse have exits listed as "Way Out" in yellow text. You want the exit that's called "Southside" (see pic above)

This will take you to a door at the end of the concourse that leads into a corridor that looks as if they've plastered but haven't finished decorating yet

Turn right into the corridor and follow it to the daylight at the end, turn left and walk down the steps, and turn left again onto Hill Street.

The exit where you emerge from the not-quite-decorated corridor to the outside is marked as point A on this google maps page:

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Unknown+road&daddr=The+Dragon+Inn,&geocode=Fa29IAMdAAHj_w%3BFXOxIAMd5g7j_yHCynr-ClbbVyndJ9B9YrxwSDHCynr-ClbbVw&aq=&sll=52.476612,-1.898146&sspn=0.004548,0.006899&vpsrc=6&hl=en&dirflg=w&mra=dme&mrsp=0&sz=17&ie=UTF8&t=m&ll=52.475775,-1.89836&spn=0.006378,0.013626&z=16

Walk down Hill Street (going southeast on the map), over the traffic lights crossing Smallbrook Queensway and continue into Ladywell Walk (still going southeast).

The road then turns 90 degrees to your left, but you need to carry on straight on through a little pedestriansed section that leads to Hurst Street. Zoom in on the bit of the map by the "Birmingham Hippodrome" to see. You can also see The Dragon Inn marked on the map when you zoom in.

The Dragon Inn is on the left just after the little pedestrianised section
