Gah, another one only available in Region 1 format tho

What's the problem with that? All region DVD players are fairly cheap these days.

Are they?
I didn't know that - I thought region 2 players were only available in region 2 etc... I know that with one of the media players I have on my PC, it lets you change the region but only a set number of times (can't remember how many but it's less than 10) and after that it will stick and not let you change it further... So I assumed that region codes were made hard to get around...

I'm not sure if I'd wanna invest in a new DVD player even if it's only 20 quid or so, just to watch one programme tho... Hmmm, I suppose I should find out if the one I've got can be set to multi-region first anyway...

Just google "region hack" and the make and model of your current DVD player - they are loads of sites out there that will give you a code normally entered with your remote that will change the region to and from and back again. I've had this function will all my DVD players - cheap or otherwise.

Ta for that, Sharpblue

I remember doing that years ago on the first DVD player I ever got - a certain key combination on the remote allowed you to access the factory settings menu and you could disable the region coding there

I've never tried it on the player I've got now coz I haven't got any non-region-2 DVDs so far tho... But I shall investigate

I think I've always had multiregional DVDs. There are so many things out there you can only get on REgion 1

I really enjoyed Earth 2. Typically just as it got really interesting it got cancelled. Clancy Brown was good in it. The only thing I didn't like were the Grendlers.
