Chuck Connors was like this major hero to my kids and I
Named my birth son Mark after the son (Johnny Crawford) in the Rifleman
My 3 adopted children were cousins of Chuch Connor...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Branded starring Chuck Conners. I use to like watching this

Yeah remember it, he was kicked out of the army in disgrace for something he never did and the opening titles were quite memorable!

I believe there is a version of the theme song with lyrics. Maybe that holds the key to this "mystery".

Okay the Ponderosa was the name of the ranch!
Bonanza?
Maybe about Ben Cartwright striking it rich and having 3 sons?

'Bonanza' is Spanish, it means 'fair weather, prosperity'. In transferred usage in the US, a 'bonanza farm', is a farm which is a ‘mine of wealth’; one on a large scale with all modern scientific appliances, etc.

On Wikipedia, it suggests that Bonanza got its name from the Comstock Lode which was "an exceptionally large and rich mineral deposit" of silver. So it's either 'bonanza' in the primary sense of a prosperous mineral find, or 'bonanza farm' in the secondary sense of a large, prosperous farm.
