Available in four different mediums now, which was the best version of Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy?

As there have been a few talking books, stage plays and (i think) a computer game, I've included an 'other' option.

I voted TV series. For me, the TV series is more suited to being re-watched than the books being re-read

Radio Series - original and best. Besides, to use a well worn cliche, the pictures are better!

Apparently Adams and the Producer/Director of the TV series seriously fell out!!

I seem to remember an interview with DA where he said the TV series didn't really add anything to the radio series, except he really liked the little extracts-from-the-Guide animation sequences...

Yep...!!
I think that was a little industry at the time.. hand-drawn animations that looked like computer graphics because hardly anyone could afford computer graphics!

They were kept sane by the lead animator's Jimi Hendrix cassettes playing. Apparently.

I discovered the HHGG TV version first (I've heard the primary and secondary radio series) and vote for it.

The DVD bonus feature where the cast look back on the making of the TV show is really enjoyable. It seems Douglas Adams had envisaged Marvin slightly differently but I thought just about everything about the screen realisation such as the Vogon guard and Marvin were brilliant. Even Zephod Beeblebrox's second head would have worked if he hadn't had to move about so much!

I'm sure this book will be enjoyed for a long time to come.

It wasn`t the exspence of the computer graphics... it was the fact that computer graphics couldn`t do what was reqiured for the show !

Yep, still far too primitive at that point.
