If they really had to bring Servalan back, it would have been more interesting to have had her on the run with a group of loyalists surrounding her. This would mirror the fates of fallen regime leaders in many parts of the world, such as various South American regimes. Even Saddam Hussein (briefly) and Radovan Karadzic have gone into hiding with varying amounts of success. Unlike Servalan, who was trying to kill everyone who recognised her, these people have had networks of supporters to move them around.

What would have been more interesting would have been to find Blake , Avon and co. rejuvenated by Servalan's successor and, upon finding political favour, be charged with hunting down Servalan's faction. This would have been a neat role reversal.

I dont think Servalan should have been killed off, but bringing her back as Sleer was a terrible idea as it was blatantly obvious it was the same person.

Servalan
Sleer

No mistake

They could have done both.Servalan appears, offers Avon a chance to surrender if he gives her Orac.Avon steps over Blake, smiles, credits, then gunshots.Let the viewer wonder as to who got shot.

Good idea. There are some interesting PGP fanfics around along this theme.

An excellent idea. I haven't seen this used in fanfic yet so it would be a great idea for a story.
Anyone want to write it?

No she shouldn't have died, it makes sense that members of the Federation can have lucky escapes as well as Blake's 7.

Her realisation that Avon feels more intensley about Blake than he will ever about her is beautifully played
At what point does that happen? I've never noticed that.

Bar Star One this is Jackie Pearce's best episode.
You could be right about that. Her performance (and scripting) in Star One really is excellent. I love how she seizes the opportunity and immediately mobilises plans she has obviously had cooking up for a long time.

Dont know how she escaped from the decaying Liberator -amazing really !

She should have died on the Liberator - the irony was fitting, after wanting it for so long. Sexy as hell, but she shouldn't have got out of that one ! However . . . if Avon and co were coming back, what the hell. The 4th series was a little too contrived anyway with replacement ship, computer, teleport, etc, so what does it matter after all that. It needed more original thought overall, rather than just re-establishing the status quo (of sorts), imho.
