"Well now," - should these meeting in Future be for NON-MEMBERS of THIS FORUM??
the last meeting had more members from the local "SHEFFIELD" SF group than our FORUM as, a result of members having to drop out at the last minute. Unfortunately, as a result did kinda feel like two separate meetings. Especially, as "Steve" was more into chatting with those folks than with "Futsie" - "BC" or, myself!!!
Also, since when does a NON-MEMBER "Becky" - be the one to choose the VENUE for the rest of those attending meetings (in, "SHEFFIELD" or, anywhere else for that matter??) _________________ "Valentine" ( 'S Brother)

Since I am new here and not attended any previous meeting just commenting on how I would feel if I had.
Voted for forum members only to attend because if I were lucky enough to be in attendance I would want this so I could meet and greet L&S
members.
Valentine does not seem to have been pleased with last meet up.
I agree mixed groups can sometimes be mismatched,no fun |

Valentine, you chose the venue last time. And Becky hasn't chosen it next time. She made a suggestion and we have gone with it. _________________ --

What's the problem with non forum members going? As long as they're Blake's 7 fans then we all have some common ground.
The whole point of these meetings is to meet other like minded people, right? So what if a few aren't members of the forum.

I don't think it really matters, as long as they are B7 fans. _________________ As I was saying, we all have to learn to live with disappointment |

I'm going to go with the more, the merrier too. It should be a big round of
fun, and people should feel free to bring spouses, significant others or
friends along. It sounds to me like if more B7ers had made it to the meet,
things would have been fine. Just luck of the draw this last time? _________________ LOOK, IT'S BEEN SWELL, BUT THE SWELLING'S GONE DOWN. |

I was speaking for myself because I would not know anyone
Would want to meet forum members first just to get aquainted.
Have been to conventions for multiple fandoms, shared hotel rooms
with other fans too. Yeh! It was fun and interesting, we all got drunk,
was probably more fun that way. |

The main point I was trying to make is, that the last meeting felt like two separate meetings - rather than a single fun gathering of folks who share the love of "B7", in particular.
Fair enough for relatives of FORUM MEMBERS and, such to attend our gatherings. Other groups have their own meetings - nothing against the "SHEFFIELD" lot but, they knew each other and, didn't mix with us at the last meeting.
TRUE it's fun meeting with fellow "B7" folks but, the whole idea was for those on here and, in the chatrrom to socialise together!!!
I used to belong to a long-now-defunct local "DWAS" group in, "SHEFFIELD" we had our regular get-togethers (usually in pubs) but, they were for US and, not other groups who were into other "SF", etc!!! _________________ "Valentine" ( 'S Brother)

That's probably because there were only four of us, and that would have been the same with or without the Sheffield group. And in fairness to them, you made no effort to talk with them or draw them in - they were the guests of us don't forget. I did chat with them, and a nice bunch they were too. I don't know if any of them are coming next time, but I hope so because, as others have said, the more the merrier. _________________ --
