Yeah, I keep hearing about Kafka and roaches. Really makes me want to read his stuff....

Cockroach Boy, may you survive the coming nuclear holocaust and breed a race of intelligent roachy people. Or else develop a little more self-esteem, depending on your reason for the name.

Personally, I intend not to get over eighteen tattoos in the coming year. I'm holding at zero, as regards my total number of tattoos.

I am stuck in the Midwestern US because of an intractible and undiagnosed neurological nightmare. As a result I'm not the life of the party. I thought B7 was DW without the Doctor, at first... in other words, not that interesting. It grew on me. I love it now, including the fourth season which I consider essential, and I'll bend your ears about that someday when you least expect it.

With you on Season 4 Magnus, it rocks. Shame so little of it survives, but the audios are all good. Especially like Macra Terror and Power of the Daleks. From what you can see on the telesnaps on the BBC who site, the visuals were pretty good. I like the way the 4th season was so varied. Much better than the repetitive style of the 5th.

Simon-- I briefly stopped by for awhile a year or two ago but didn't linger. No one ever said the name was taken, so I'm guessing it was me.

Roach-- I was speaking of Blake's Seven, season four. I've tried DW telesnaps, and I just can't relax and enjoy myself watching them. They become archaeological documents.

Oh sorry Magnus. See what you mean! Season Four Blakes 7 has a worse reputation than it deserves. Rescue, Sand and Blake (obviously) are great episodes and there was an obviously an attempt being made to do something different and, bizare wigs aside, darker.
But I don't think it was as consistently interesting as the other three Seasons. If there had been another series then the Scorpio/base format would probably have come into its own.

The one thing that really bugs me in Season 4 is Servalan. Terminal was the perfect way for her to check out, destroyed by her own greed. The character seemed to be running on empty after that, however good Jackie Pearce was.[/quote]

And Orbit! The problem with B7 episodes is often the main premise, but then the characterizations save them. In season four the premises for stories got sillier, but other aspects got more interesting. All those Avon "moments", often at the ends of episodes...

I don't care as much for season three, as the others. They seemed to lose their focus, making it more of a stale Trek copy for awhile, with alien-menaces-of-the-week, and long stretches without dealing with the rebellion. Season four has more freshness and vitality to it, and the story moves forward aggressively, with Avon's deterioration. Season three had its hands full just showing they could have B7 without Blake.

I love how losing the Liberator shakes them all up. The program moves forward, by the crew actually moving backward. They struggle and scrape to get back some of the advantages the Liberator had given them, and they get remarkably far on this, but that's all they do.

They're losing ground with no end in sight, driving Avon mad, because winning is the only possible freedom for him. I have to stop, not only because of my eyes (long story), but because season 4 needs its own thread.
