Cally, under the influence of a telepathic communication, attempts to sabotage the ship. As a result, the Liberator loses control and is drawn towards a web type barrier surrounding an unknown planet, where it gets trapped. Blake teleports down to the planet where he meets two genetically engineered humanoids and makes a deal to recharge their energy banks in exchange for releasing his ship from the web.
